AMD CEO Lisa Su believes the AI industry could reach $400bn by 2027. This confidence is based on AI's potential to transform businesses and personal productivity. AMD has revised its sales forecast for the year from $2bn to $3.5bn, thanks to increased demand and the ramp-up of their MI 300 AI accelerator product, which exceeded $400m in sales during the fourth quarter.
Turning to the traditional PC and server market, Su notes a recovery in the second half of last year and forecasts growth in the server market, with AMD expected to grow faster than the market due to the strength of its product portfolio. She also expects the PC market to grow in 2024, thanks in particular to gaming PCs, which could grow much faster.
